Two New Web-Enabled Time and Attendance Systems

Recently, two new time and attendance systems that allow web-based access have been introduced:

New Employee Time Clock from Icon Time Systems

Icon Time Systems has launched their latest employee time clock, the RTC-1000. Using this time and attendance system, payroll managers can view and edit payroll information via local networks or the Internet.

When Internet access is not available, the RTC-1000 can be connected directly to a personal computer. There’s no software to install, so the system will work with Windowsâ„¢, Linuxâ„¢, and Macintoshâ„¢ operating systems. The RTC-1000 supports Ethernet, USB, or serial port communications.

Payroll managers can set rules around attendance and tardiness and use an optional notification feature that sends alerts via email if an attendance rule violation occurs. This allows immediate response to the situation, ensuring that problems are solved in a timely manner so payroll processing is not delayed.

Asure Introduces iEmployee EasyTouch Time Clock

Asure Software has introduced the iEmployee EasyTouch Time Clock, a time tracking device that combines three technologies “ a touch-screen time clock, an internet-enabled device, and web-based time and attendance software.

In addition to tracking employee’s attendance, the EasyTouch Time Clock provides employees with real-time access to schedules, time-off balances, and attendance history. By combining a touch screen interface, a full range of biometric and card recognition options, and web-based workforce management solutions, iEmployee can offer customers of any size a comprehensive time and attendance system.

EasyTouch Time Clock provides real-time views of schedules, time-off balances, and attendance history, allowing employees access via touch-screen to view and control their data anytime.

iEmployee EasyTouch Time Clock is available worldwide for rent or purchase from iEmployee.

Hey this looks great and all, but what about the small business owner that still wants a boatload of features in a time recording software package but doesn’t want to fork over the serious cash?

I’ve been using Tsheets since the beginning of the year and have lowered costs by 6%!

Oxiana, you’re absolutely right — if employers don’t need/want advanced features (like badge terminals, biometrics, access control, etc.) or advanced capabilities (such as job costing, expense tracking, scheduling, etc.), there are any number of offerings. There are even free open source packages that can easily accommodate low-end, barebones time tracking. Certainly the service you mention is a viable possibility for some small businesses, as are many other options.

But if employers need any of these additional features, they’re going to have to go with a more sophisticated solution. And if they don’t want to pay a monthly fee to a service provider, they’ll want a purchased software package rather than a monthly subscription. Fortunately, there are many options available at attractive one-time expense prices (less than $500) .

The point is, no one solution is right for everyone. The business owner needs to evaluate what features she really needs and balance the desirability of those features against the cost over time of the systems or services she’s considering.

You would be very surprised. The RTC-1000 from Icon Time Systems goes for as low as $349!!

And unlike Tsheets there is no monthly fee. The website is hosted in the time clock! So once you buy it – you own it.
